Artist's Comments

Once a rare species, the now-extinct Norwegian derpfish was known for its unique mating rituals. Large groups of the derpfish would gather in ponds and sound their mating calls, which were loud, distinguishable "derp" sounds.

After they have mated and the females have laid their eggs the males swim upstream to do undersea battle with their ancestral rival, the herpfish

Much herping and derping is to be had.
